Numerous Facebook friends all shared the same link on my timeline, concerning a news story that KPIC-TV aired about a "get-together" for me at Dakota Street Pizza in Sutherlin on January 23, 2015. Because they were identical entries, I deleted from my Facebook timeline, but I'm re-posting their comments here, so that I'll have a way to remember all of the great friends that I have!
My dear friend Monte Muirhead... Stay strong! You are in my prayers always!

Great story that KPIC (Roseburg, OR) did on my brother, Monte, last night.
This is my cousin Monte Muirhead. He is going through some pretty tough times. His Mom, my Aunt Lucille just passed away last month. Monte was living with her so she could keep living at home and now this has hit him. He knows he is in God's hands and has great faith in the Lord. Praying for him is the best thing we can do. Thank you!
This is about my friend Monte Muirhead. He is pretty inspirational in many ways.

MUCH TO MY SURPRISE, KPIC-TV POSTED THE FOLLOWING STORY ON THEIR WEBSITE, KPIC,COM.
I had no idea they were doing a story on my medical status / upcoming social this Saturday at Dakota Street Pizza in Sutherlin.
I'm speechless. Thank you everyone for thinking of me!

ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Over the years, local resident Monte Muirhead has been the voice of many local communities.
Last summer the 49-year-old was stricken with stage 4 colon cancer.
He delivered the news as the 11 p.m. anchor on KPIC in the 1990s and also worked for stations in Medford, Coos Bay, Springfield and Eugene.
A celebration will be held for Monte on Saturday and the public is invited.
"The purpose is to say hi to Monte and to bring his spirits up," said Monte's childhood friend David Jay Hamilton.
"He was very familiar with the area and I know he took a lot of pride in serving this community in whatever role he was serving at the time," added former KPIC coworker Dan Bain.
The Douglas County native is well loved in the community; he ran for several public offices over the years including Douglas County Commissioner.
The celebration will be at Dakota Street Pizza Co. in Sutherlin at 6 p.m.
